With Christmas just around the corner, many people think of doing those special things for others. This is, after all, the season of giving.

In the spirit of the season, I have made it my personal goal to do 12 days of random acts of kindness leading up to Christmas. While I may not get to everything on this list, I wanted to share with you a list of things I may do, just to brighten one’s day and make them feel loved. I would love it if you would join me.

20 Low-Cost Random Acts of Kindness Anyone Can Do

1. Cut out extra coupons and leave them by the products they are for in the store for someone else.

2. Drop off teddy bears to the police department to give to kids who may need the comfort of it.

3. At the grocery store, if the person behind you have only a couple things, pay for them.

4. At the coffee drive through or fast food restaurant, pay for the people behind you.

5. Write on a note card “You are beautiful and loved”. Place this in the makeup section of a store at eye level.

6. Give a homeless person a hot cup of cocoa or coffee.

7.  Send an anonymous gift to someone.

8. Smile at all strangers you see and catch eye contact with for the day.

9. Pick up trash when you see it for one day.

10. Take cat and dog treats to the local shelter.

11. Give a random person a walmart gift card.

12.  Write a nice note to your mail person.

13.  Tape quarters to a vending machine.

14. Go out to eat and when you are about to leave, get an extra to-go meal and give it to someone who lives alone.

15. Shovel the walks or driveways of a neighbor. Don’t tell them it was you.

16. Leave genuine comments on your favorite blogs. Trust me, this brightens a blogger’s day.

17.  Call someone who may just need an ear to listen.

18.  If you go eat out, make your tip extra big and leave a personal note of gratitude.

19.  Ask any charitable organization how you can help. I am sure they can use your help, even if it is just one day.

20. Buy a few of those $5 throw blankets and give them to a children’s shelter.

I hope you will join me and do some good deeds this season and all year. This is also an excellent way to teach your children about kindness to others.
